ABOUT ABOUT

“The way of the world is meeting people through other people.” ~ Robert Kerrigan

In today’s dynamic world, now more than ever we need to build and sustain business and professional relationships.  In addition, we must grow and keep our networking skills sharp.  Relationships matter! Join us for a Networking 101 workshop which is part of PSU’s "Future Alumni Series.”  This two-hour interactive session will provide you with “how to” essentials in Networking -- how to deliver an elevator speech and first introduction speech, how to make initial contact and how to exit a conversation, and how to build a sustained connection after the first initial conversation.  And much more!  Attendees will walk away with practical tips and techniques to start building and sustaining your professional network today!

Speaker:

Leading this session is Connie Plowman, PMP – who is all about networking.  Throughout her professional career, she has built a network of business professionals around the world.  Connie has been an education leader, a corporate leader and a volunteer leader.  As an education leader, she served as the Interim Executive Director of the CLIMB Center for Advancement, Portland Community College, and built a network with deans, faculty, students, and college leaders.  As a corporate leader, Connie was the Chief Operating Officer with Cadence Management Corporation, international project management training and consulting firm, and built relationships with prospects, customers and suppliers.  As a volunteer leader, she is an active member of the Project Management Institute, and networks with project managers and professionals around the globe.   Today, she is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and teaches (part-time) project management classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels, creating our future project leaders.
