ABOUT ABOUT

The Portland State University Alumni Association in partnership with members of the Portland Development Commission present the second event of a 4-part speaker series designed to provide insights about some of Portland’s most prevalent and successful industries: Technology, Athletic & Outdoor Apparel, Clean Tech, and Digital Creative. Thought leaders from these industries will discuss future trends, and the competencies you will need to position yourself for the career opportunities on the horizon.

Our April event on the Athletic and Outdoor Industry (A&O) will focus on companies who design, market, and distribute apparel for active lifestyles. Come join us for networking opportunities and listen to an engaging panel discussion from leaders in Portland's A&O field, a primary source of jobs and economic growth for the Portland region. The Portland Metro area currently cultivates the highest concentration of A&O industry firms in the entire nation, inspiring innovation and creativity through the employment of likeminded individuals.

Moderating this event will be Sucheta Bal, Business Development Manager - Athletic and Outdoor Industry at the Portland Development Commission

Panelists include:

Jennifer Nolfi, Director of Athletic and Outdoor Industry Program at Portland State University

Woody Blackford, Vice-President of Design and Innovation at Columbia Sportswear

Jeff Perkins, Vice-President of Footwear Product Creation Operations at Nike

Tim Larson, Design Principal at Downstream

Doors open at 5:30 PM, panel discussion begins at 6:00 PM. A brief Q&A session will be included.

There will be networking opportunities before and after the 1-hour panel discussion to meet the panelists, recruiters in the industry, other industry professionals, and PSU alumni. Your ticket will include light appetizers and 2 drink tickets.

This event is open to the community. Space is limited, so purchase your tickets today!
